Is a meaningful career a luxury?
A meaningful career, one that moves the world toward good, is often seen as a financial sacrifice. These jobs are known for taking more time, more effort, more grit, more passion—but giving less in terms of compensation, comfort, or control.
While the life experience and personal sense of reward these jobs can provide are rarely found another way, the risk of burnout and the inability to provide for a secure personal future is very real. You are left wondering if it’s worth it.

The Replaceable Employee = Resentment
You feel no comradery or connection toward the company you work for and do what you need to for the paycheck and short-term benefits. HELLO FUTURE LEADERS
A message from Georgi
When I graduated from UC Berkeley back in 1994, I wanted to do good in the world. The opportunities that I had access to were largely volunteer positions with limited future growth, and they did not match my ambition. So, I engaged in work where I could develop skills fast and was well-rewarded financially; however, the work felt hollow and meaningless.
A few years ago, I was reading the Harvard Business Review when a statistic smacked me in the face: the average career is 90,000 hours. So much of our valuable time here on Earth. And what if we used as many of our career hours as we could for good? My family of five alone would contribute 450,000 hours. My Harvard Business class could theoretically contribute upwards of 72 million hours.
Fast forward to the present, and Work That’s Worth It is here. I’ve had the privilege to work with numerous individuals wrestling with the same dilemma I once confronted.
Work That’s Worth It is more than a mere methodology; it’s my heartfelt contribution to bettering our world. By helping as many of you as I can, we can compound our time to solve humanity’s major dilemmas. And we can do it without sacrificing our personal needs.
Every day, more businesses are emerging across markets that allow workers to do amazing work without skipping the reward.
